Hello there,
My name is Gwendolyn Moore. I’m a Greensboro, North Carolina native and have always wanted to be a counselor and therapist since high school. It was in high school where I discovered my interest and passion for helping others. My school counselor always advocated for me and I wanted to provide the same support for others. My Bachelor’s of Arts degree was taken from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in Sociology and Master’s of Science in School Counseling at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
I have worked at two local high schools and a middle school in Guilford County. Several groups were started at each: a girls club, grief counseling group, and Gender and Sexuality Alliance. Having met the needs of students and parents over the years, I realized I wanted to be able to assist children and adolescents outside of the school walls, as well. Children and adults are going through more than ever before. Social media, self-esteem, sexuality, family dynamics and other traumas are the new pandemics for many people. As a therapist for the Greensboro Urban Ministry it's important to create a space where individuals can be vulnerable and open about their challenges. Life can throw twists and turns that no one is prepared to handle.
I am here to provide my expertise with you and assist along the way with positive support.
Why Therapy??
Life can be so unpredictable. Whether it is good or not so good, things occur in our lives that are hard to combat by ourselves. The stress of school, work, relationships, or just adjusting to the effects of Covid19 can take a toll on anyone. Therapy creates an opportunity to express your challenges in a safe, open, and nonjudgmental environment. You are to be commended for exploring counseling because it shows your drive to make a change. I understand the importance of therapy and embrace the prospects of supporting a happier you.
As a counselor/ therapist, over 8 years, I have met with various children, adults, parents, and families. I have experience with conflict resolution, relationship issues, anxiety, self-esteem, coping skills, family conflict, racial identity, just to name a few.
Every client is different and has their own personality, skills, experience, family dynamic and goals that make them unique. Their feelings, voice, and experiences only add to who they are and only they can take control of their future. I am the rest area “safe space”. Stop here, when you need a push to continue your journey to a better you.

Free Consultations (15 minutes)
Therapy Session is 50-60 minutes:
Individual Outpatient Therapy $70-$100
Couple Therapy $75-$100
Group Therapy $100
Family Therapy (with identified Client) $110
Insurance: UnitedHealthCare, Cigna, Aetna
We offer a sliding scale for individuals who are experiencing financial hardship and difficulties.
Cancellation Fee: $35 missed or late cancellation fee for any appointment that is missed (no-show) or not cancelled within 24 hours
